VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE POST OF REGISTRAR

The post of Registrar of the Plateau State University, Bokkos will be vacant on the 29th August, 2021. The Governing Council of the University has decided to, in accordance with the Law of the University, commence the process for the appointment of a qualified candidate to fill the position.

Applications are, therefore, invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the post of the substantive Registrar of Plateau State University, Bokkos.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Registrar is a Principal Officer in the University. He/she is the Chief Administrative Officer, Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation, Convocation, and the custodian of the Law/Statutes of the University, and shall be responsible for the performance of other duties as specified in the University Law and regulations. He/she shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Minimum of Second Class Lower Degree in a relevant field obtained from a recognized University, plus a minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification cognate experience in administration or management, a substantial part of which must have been in a University or a comparable institution of higher learning.
  • Possession of a relevant postgraduate degree would be an added advantage.
  • Membership of the relevant professional Institutes is a mandatory requirement.
  • He/she must be on the rank of Deputy Registrar in a University or higher institution of comparable standing.
  • He/she should not be more than sixty (60) years of age by 29th August, 2021
  • He/she should be computer literate and demonstrate ability in the use of computers and access to internet.
  • Candidates should, in not more than five hundred (500) words, articulate their vision for the management of a 21st century Registry Department and how they can assist the Vice-Chancellor in the day-to-day administration of an aspiring world class University.

Tenure

The tenure of office for all Principal Officers of the University, including the Registrar, is a 5-year single term.

Salary and Conditions of Service

The Registrar is on consolidated salary. Other terms and conditions of service are as may be specified in the letter of appointment and as applicable for the post of Registrars in all Nigerian Universities/and as may be determined by the Governing Council of the University from time to time.

Note that all your reference letters from three (3) referees, addressed to the Pro-Chancellor, Plateau State University, Bokkos are to be sent under a confidential cover to reach the Registrar before the closing date, please.

Closing Date
