Born in Shendam on the 8th February 1977 to the family of late Dongjur Louis Kerekkum, Mr. Lawrence Longsen Kerekkum attended the Roman Catholic Mission primary school shendam where he obtained the first school leaving certificate in 1987, he attended Government science School kuru where he obtained the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 1994. He went further to study financial studies in Plateau State Polytechnic Barkin Ladi in 1999 and proceeded to the University of Maiduguri in the year 2000 and graduated with a second class upper degree in Accountancy in 2005 and later undertook the National youth service in Eleme LGC in Rivers state. After his service year Mr. Lawrence worked at “Air separation Ltd” an oxygen manufacturing company in Jos as Account officer in 2005 and later joined Silverbird communications Jos as Accountant in 2006. His passion for education endeared him back to school where he obtained a Masters degree in Accounting and Finance in the university of Jos in 2013, due to his outstanding performance, he was employed as a staff of the university of Jos as an internal Auditor between 2012-2013, his hard work and dedication to duty did not go unnoticed by his former employers and he was recalled by Silverbird communication Port Harcourt as Assistant manager finance in 2013,. Due to his quest for education and knowledge Mr. Lawrence Kerekkum proceeded to the prestigious Harvard University Boston Massachusetts USA for an executive education in Public Financial management in 2015. He joined the plateau state university in December 2016 as Chief Accountant till date and currently a PhD student in accounting and Finance in the university of Jos Nigeria. He is a member of three professional Accounting bodies, Institute of Public Accountants of Nigeria (ICPAN), Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is married to Rebecca Ozi Kerekkum and blessed with three beautiful kids, two girls and a boy.
