It is with gratitude to God almighty that I send my felicitations to all workers of Plateau State University, Bokkos on the occasion of the year 2023 Worker's Day celebration which has been declared by the Federal Government of Nigeria for Monday, May 1,2023.
This day no doubt brings to mind the struggles and successes recorded by trade unions worldwide in pressing home their demands for better wages and working conditions which dates back to the 1886 struggle by Australian workers which was followed shortly by the same struggle by American and British workers.
While I commend all workers of Plateau State University Bokkos for their resilience,patience and understanding in the face of outstanding salaries and other allowances, I wish to assure you that the Management of the University is not resting on its oars in ensuring that outstanding welfare issues are meticulously handled in order to make the work environment conducive and attractive for it's workers.
As you celebrate this day,be rest assured that the Management remains totally committed to addressing the welfare needs of workers within available resources.
I also promise to continue to operate an open door policy of administration believing that the PLASU project is a collective one.
Therefore,all hands must be on deck to ensure that Plateau State University is developed to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Plateau State and beyond.
As you celebrate this historic day, you must remain totally committed in ensuring that everything possible is done to entrench a culture of peace which is a sine qua non to the growth and prosperity of our University, Plateau state and the nation.
