NEW PLASU ACTING VC ASSUMES DUTY, PROMISES TO FAST TRACK RESUMPTION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES AND UPSCALE DEVELOPMENT

Newly appointed Acting Vice Chancellor of Plateau State University Bokkos, Professor Shedrach Gaya Best has assumed duties with commitment and drive to put back the University on its track of stimulating teaching, research a community service.
Professor Best who was accompanied to the University by his Wife, Professor Kachollom Best, Clergy and Elders of COCIN Sarkin Mangu described Plateau State University as a critical institution for Plateau State with the mandate of training and raising future leaders for both Plateau State, Nigeria and the world.
He commended Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang led administration for its consistent commitment and support for the University since he assumed duties adding that it is such drive that saw the Governor approving the downward review of charges by fifty percent as palliative to enable the students access the services of the University.
He expressed concern over the situation he met where students were not on the campus as worrisome saying Government has interacted with the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities Plateau State University Bokkos branch and an agreement was reached for the settlement of owed earned academic Allowances and the funds have been approved for release to the University for the payment.
Professor Best told Staff of the University that his coming to the University was not to witch hunt anyone but said however that, management of the University will not tolerate any form of mischief which is aimed at undermining the University.
According to Professor Best, the University belongs to Plateau people as such, he will continue to work towards ensuring that the University remains a nucleus for the unification of the State in order to deliver on its mandate by not promoting any form of the division or favouritism.
Welcoming the Acting Vice Chancellor to the University earlier on behalf of Management, Staff and Students, Registrar of the University, Yakubu Ayuba assured him of their willingness and preparedness to cooperate with him to enable him succeed.
Prayers were then offered for the protection, guidance and success of the Acting Vice Chancellor.
In his admonition Rev. Cletus Mwwan of COCIN Sarkin Mangu taking his texts from the Prophet Isaiah Chapter forty-one verse ten and Philippians Chapter three as guides for the Acting Vice Chancellor which if adhered to, will lead him to a successful tenure.
