TETFund ZONAL PROJECT MONITORING COMMITTEE APPLAUDS PROFESSOR MATUR

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund Zonal Project Monitoring Committee constituted for the purpose of appraising completed and ongoing projects in Plateau State University Bokkos has commended Professor Matur Malau Bernard for demonstrating commitment in supervising TETFund sponsored projects being executed and those already completed and ready for commissioning in the University.
The three -man team under the leadership of Ukim Comfort, the Director Public Communications at the TETFund Headquarters Abuja made the commendation when she led members of her Committee on the Monitoring and inspection of various projects in Plateau State University Bokkos amongst which were the Senate building, Faculties of Health Sciences, Agriculture, Law, Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, the School of Postgraduate Studies, Academic Planning block, General Studies block and the block of Offices, Classrooms and Laboratories among other projects being funded by TETFund.
The team leader said they were assigned by the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to inspect and certify completed projects for commissioning by an official to be appointed by the Federal government through the office of the Minister of Education.
According to Ukim Comfort, the Commissioning of selected completed projects in Plateau State University will come under the third phase in the series of commissioning being undertaken nationwide and will come up soon.
She said already the team has completed the second phase of the commissioning of TETFund sponsored projects recently in Gombe State University.
Also speaking, a member of the committee, Emmanuel Nyiyongo appreciated the new innovations introduced by Professor Matur in administering the University particularly his open door policy and his labour friendly disposition.
Responding, Vice Chancellor of Plateau State University Bokkos, Professor Matur Malau Bernard commended TETFund for the huge investments made in the education industry through the funding provided for infrastructural development.
He said some of the projects inspected would have been completed in July this year but are still at various stages of completion because of the failure by contractors to deliver on schedule adding that since he assumed duty in March this year, he has embarked on sustain follow up visits to the contractors some of whom have not been forthcoming despite the fact that the University had evaluated and made payments to them.
He promised that the University will continue to collaborate with TETFund for the purpose of ensuring the speedy completion of projects in the University.
